Most of our active members have already used the new Post Rating feature. On the old platform you had the ability to "Like" a post or comment. You now have the ability to not only "LIKE" (with a Thumb Up) a post or comment, but now you have a few more options to show your gratitude or not.
If you find a post or comment to be USEFUL, click on the Wrench icon.
If you find a comment to be a GOOD IDEA, click on the Pen icon.
If become it made you LAUGH, click on the Smiley Face icon.
If you're NOT SURE YOU AGREE, use the X icon.
If you find someone's comment or opinion to OLD SCHOOL, click on the Clock icon.
Or if you simply DISLIKE someone's comment, click on the Thumbs Down icon
Why would someone use the post rating features?
I can't imagine I need to answer this with great detail but we sometimes have a new member that likes to comment one every post or thread with a one-liner – such as "I agree", "Nice job", way to go", etc. After too many one-liners, they often become annoying since most members after profile set up to receive alerts when he knew comment is made to a discussion they're following. The post rating feature allows you to express your feelings without filling up everyone inbox with unnecessary alerts.
So please, take advantage of the Post Ratings feature. And remember, each time you use it. that member receives a point that can be used in the future for trophies or graduating into other groups. A feature I plan use in the future.

We now have an IMPROVED post ratings feature. You can not only "like" a post, but you have several other options as well. 🙂
Maybe you “agree” with ones comment or found it to be "useful”. On the other end of the spectrum, maybe you “dislike” it or find the post to be “too old school." You can now be a bit more expressive with your ratings.
I'm sure some are wondering if they LOST all their "likes" from the previous platform. The answer is NO. All your acquired "likes" carried over to the new Post Rating feature.
Next time, before you click on the "like" icon (thumbs up), you may want to consider a more suiting one.
If at anytime you want to review your "Post Ratings Feedback", you can do so by simply visiting your Profile Page.

Before contacting me (and please feel free to do so), allow me to step you through the process.
1. The reset password link is right under the password field on the sign-in screen. Click it.
2. You'll be asked for your username or email address. Either works. Fill it in.
3. Upon filling in you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. Click on this link. When you do you will be taken to the homepage of the forms and midways down there is a small area that reads "you have reset your password, check your email for your new password"
4. You will then receive your second email that will include your new automated password. Use this to log into the forms. From there you have the option to keep this password or to change it.
I believe where it gets confusing is the fact that you receive two emails with the second one including your new password.
Also, in the first email where you click on the link to reset your password, the link takes you back to the homepage of the forms and where it says to check your email for your new password is quite small and easy to overlook. This can cause some confusion.
After all this, you're still are having issues, then please contact me directly and I will get it taken care of for you.
Did you know you can sign into DealerRefresh using your Facebook, Twitter or Google profile?
Q: Why would I want to do that?
A: Many times you're are already logged into one of these social accounts. Come'on, you know you log into your Facebook account first thing each day. If you're already logged into one of these 3 accounts, when you visit DealerRefresh you'll already be logged in.
Q: Does my personal information from these accounts get shared with DealerRefresh?
A: Nope, just your general shared info like your name, and sometimes profile photo. It can all be edited afterwards.
Q: If I already have a user/pass through the normal sign-up process, can I still sign-in using Facebook, Twitter or Google?
A: You sure can. Matter of fact, I would recommend it. Many have all 3 profiles associated to their DealerRefresh profile. It betters your overall experience and you're never stumbling around trying to remember your DR user/pass.
Q: If I already have a user/pass through the normal sign-up, how do go about associating Facebook, Twitter or Google to my DealerRefresh account?
A: Follow the steps below… I would also follow these steps if you're new user and just signing up.
Log into your account as usual OR sign-up for a new account. Once you're logged in, click on your username/profile currently located in the light left corner. A drop down menu will appear. Click on External Accounts.
From the External Accounts page, it's mostly straight forward. Click on the accounts you want to associate to your DealerRefresh profile, follow the prompts and you're set.
I'm sure most of you have done this before using another service. It's a common feature anymore and very useful.
Again, no personal information is shared with DealerRefresh. It merely betters your overall experience.

One of the most asked questions is "How do I edit my…". It's easy, so easy it's overlooked.
Here are a few screen shots to help you out..
Currently you can find "home-base" to your profile in the upper left corner. It's easy to find if you have a photo attached to your profile. Otherwise, you'll see your name and a generic avatar.
Once you click on your name in the upper left corner, a drop down menu will appear. From there you have access to just about every setting you need to update your profile and more.
Need to edit your signature – click on signature and you'll be taken straight to the Edit Signature page.
After clicking on any of the several option in the dropdown, you have 2 options to continue editing. You can go back to your home-base profile link OR use the menu found on the left as seen in the screen shot above.
*IMPORTANT – Use the Personal Profile link to EDIT and UPDATE your profile. If you've been part of the community for awhile, you will want to update this section while uploading a new profile image. We do ask that EVERYONE has a photo attached to their profile.
The more information you have in your profile, the better your engagement will be with less chance of being moderated.
**Side Note: Vendors – don't go all crazy with your signature line. We have several members that like to use their signature lines as a billboard. This is frowned upon and breaks up the flow of the forums. Plus it's straight up tacky.

Our special emoticons/smilies didn't make it over on the initial vBulletin to Xenforo migration, but they're back now! And they're A LOT easier to get to. On the old platform the customized smilies were hidden behind a series of clicks that popped a new tab or a pop up – that was no bueno :thumbdn:
